So, were you still feeling tired this morning? Don’t worry; you’re not the only one. A lot of us have the same sleeping habits. It’s typical for most to get around 6 hours during the work week and over the course of the weekend, we’ll try and squeeze in a couple of extra hours. So, can you really catch up on lost ZZZ’s? It’s doubtable.

According to a recent study by Penn State University, people who get only six hours of sleep a night during the week need more than the weekend to recover from the lack of sleep.

The study found that those two nights of extra sleep didn’t reverse the damage from not sleeping enough during the week.

Both men and women showed significantly decreased performance on skill tests, however, women seemed to recover better from sleep loss than the men.

No matter how you cut it, nothing can truly replace getting a healthy amount of sleep each night.
