The base works as stated. It has night lights at the foot of the base that you can turn off by pressing the light button for 3 seconds. There is a secondary light available underneath the beds.
You can't really feel the massage feature.
The head and foot sections rise and lower as they should.

My wife and I chose to buy a split king for a couple reasons the biggest reason being she is a recent above knee amputee. She wanted to be able to raise her leg above her heart to alleviate swelling and pain. The base is amazing at the adjustability. It's zero g position is amazing. My wife is also a very loud snorer. The anti snore feature has almost alleviated the snoring all together. I thought the massage would be basically moot but to my surprise it does a very relaxing massage. We both have enjoyed the sleep tracker ai aswell. It's insight into how we sleep and things to help get more rest have been very helpful. Overall if you can afford it it is possibly the best on the market.

Only complaint is the massage motor is terrible. When on, it's very sporadic, so it's more annoying than relaxing. It was like this since the start. They sent someone that replaced both the control box and the motor and it made no difference.

I have had my Ergo adjustable base for one week. Being able to elevate the feet, head and lumbar has improved my sleeping by about 10% I would estimate. The key reason I bought the base now is that I had a backache that was aggravated by having to get in and out of bed. Being able to elevate the head really solved that problem and eliminated my backache within a few days. It would be nice if the mattress didn't creep across the base after using the head and foot elevation for a few days. Maybe an edge along the base could keep the mattress from moving. That said, I'm 95+% happy with the base.

My back had been bothering me for years. I would wake up with a sore back and aches, thought I was just getting old from hard work, but after sleeping in my Tempur-pedic for the last few weeks. I feel absolutely no pain soreness when I wake up my back hasn't felt this good in 10 years was worth every penny I probably would've paid more if I knew I could feel like this. This bed is so comfortable cradles you like a baby you don't even need a pillow for this bed. It's so comfortable. Can't believe I went my whole life without one.
The Smart base is just a huge bonus I mean, who sleeps on a flat bed anymore and the massage is great. Can't believe how good it feels. The snore detection is so cool and love how you can control everything from your phone with the Tempur-pedic app it's so cool plus tracks all the same stuff your Apple Watch does when you sleep. I find it a lot more convenient instead of wearing my watch to bed.

The base was brought in by the movers, set up in minutes, and I was given instructions on its use. It was a first class installation with professional individuals. The Smart Base provides a multitude of comfortable adjustments for sleeping, reading watching television, or just relaxing while it vibrates. I sleep with a CPAP and the slight elevation of the head helps tremendously. Finally, it is very convenient to raise the head and the foot of the bed when changing the sheets. No more having to lift a mattress in order to fit the bottom sheet. Absolutely love the base.

I was recently diagnosed with GERD which impacts my ability to get a comfortable nights sleep. I had to prop up my pillows to angle my neck and shoulders so that the acid reflux wouldn't flare up.
